Daniel Benítez

“Carne de cañón: stories of Narcoworkers” is the title of an exhibition and a lecture by Daniel Benítez (Fabrica, 22 February 2018), a Mexican illustrator working in our centre from 2016 to 2018.

Mainstream media and entertainment have turned Narcoculture into a spectacle, normalizing violence as part of the stereotypical view of Mexico.

As a response to the lack of reality depicted on screen and online, Daniel Benítez’s illustrations explain the Narcophemenon from the perspective of those at the bottom tier.
