Fabrica gives residencies in Italy to interactive artists & designers

Fabrica Interactive welcomes applications from young artists and designers to join Fabrica for a one year residency.

We are looking for artist, designers, creative engineers to do applied research in the following areas:

WEB DESIGN
SOCIAL NETWORKING
ONLINE GAMING
PHYSICAL COMPUTING
DEVICE ART
3D


You must be able to conceive, design, prototype and build engaging and innovative experiences. You will work with a multidisciplinary and multinational team of designers in Fabrica's stunning research centre in Treviso, Italy, under the creative direction of Andy Cameron.

Previous Fabrica residents include Jonathon Harris (10x10, We Feel Fine), Juan Ospina (Flipbook!, winner of Grand Prize in Japanese Media Arts Festival 2005), Ross Phillips (ShowStudio, VideoGrid winner in Interactive Arts category Ars Electronica 2008) and Angela Lidderdale (winner Young Guns award from Art Directors Club New York 2004)

Fabrica does not offer a programme of tuition and is appropriate for self motivated artists and designers who have already completed their studies. However, Fabrica holds a number of workshops per year for residents lead by high profile international artists and designers. Previous workshop leaders have included Bruce Sterling, Golan Levin, Yugo Nakamura, Casey Reas and Amy Franceschini

Fabrica offers bursaries to successful applicants. The bursary includes travel to fabrica, as well as accommodation, living expenses and a small grant.
