Mattia is a video maker and one of the few Italians at Fabrica. He’s from one of our most beautiful regions, Tuscany, but he seems to enjoy life in Veneto, as well. Read and believe!
Can you describe in no more than 30 words who you are and what you do?
I’m a video maker. I studied Arts and Humanities at Sapienza University in Rome, but I started getting involved with video making by myself since the high school. Actually, I’ve been holding a video camera in my hand since I was 14.
What do you expect from your time at Fabrica?
I expect to learn a lot through direct experience, to meet people coming from the whole world, to work with high tech hardware, to enter a world which would not have been accessible for me if I had not been here. And actually, all these things have already happened and keep on happening every day.
What inspires you most?
Reading. Each time I read something, I get inputs for countless opportunities. And nature is also essential. Spending a day in the countryside is for me like recharging my batteries, and everything becomes easier and more enjoyable.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
If you want to do something, just start doing it! And don’t be afraid to take a challenge. Results will arrive.
What do you miss of your home and what do you like of Treviso?
I miss the sea, which in Cecina was a two-minute-walk from my home, the peace of the hills in Montescudaio, and my beloved friends. But at the end, with a four-hour-drive I can find all this again exactly where I have left it. Here in Treviso, I like the river Sile very much, the people I’ve met, the lifestyle and the many opportunities that Fabrica puts at our disposal. And obviously, spritz 🙂
