Nicolas comes from Greece and has recently joined our Editorial Team. His creativity and inspiration spectrum ranges from archive photo collections to the organization of exhibitions and performances. We’re happy to have you with us, Nicolas!
Can you describe in no more than 30 words who you are and what you do?
I’m a curator from Lesvos Island and I’ve been lately working in Athens and Milan. In 2014 I founded the K-Gold Temporary Gallery that focuses on exhibitions and performances.
What do you expect from your time at Fabrica?
During this residency, I want to deepen my research in contemporary art interventions and reinterpreting collection and archives. I totally believe that Fabrica’s cross-disciplinary character is fundamental for this type of venture.
What inspires you most?
I’m inspired by risk and the unknown. I’m pretty curious and I just rely on my intuition. The source of my creativity is usually fuelled by my sincere enthusiasm (obsession) in collecting objects.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Think. Doubt. Repeat.
What do you miss of your home and what do you like of Italy?
I miss my family and my picturesque home-island. Italy is definitely my home No 2. We are anyway ‘una faccia, una razza’ (Translator’s note: typical expression which means “one face one race” and refers to the cultural similarities between Greece and Italy).
