Meet a Fabricante #22 – Akanksha Krishnani

06 December 2016

Akanksha is a Fabricante since some months and has brought to Fabrica a fascinating blend of Indian and Spanish culture. She’s a musician and her dj sets bring her all over Europe. So stay tuned and don’t miss her performances!

Can you describe in no more than 30 words who you are and what you do?
I was born in India , but grew up between India and Spain, as my dad has always lived in Spain. After studying and working in the contemporary art market of both the countries, my solo travels across India inspired me to  make music and portray a blend of these two beautiful cultures that I carry with me.

What do you expect from your year at Fabrica?
I expect to experiment  and create a genre and identity of my own with my sound. I want create and produce something that is out of my comfort zone and beyond mediums.

What inspires you most?
People. Every time I go to a new city or a new country, I love the smell of the varied cultures and parallel lives that each of us lives within. There is so much that the eye still can’t reach.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“You are allowed 5 emotional minutes in the day, then you gotta be gangsta”.

What do you miss of your home and what do you like of Italy?
I miss the  delicious, spicy Indian  home food. I personally despise the performance pressure in Bombay, so what I love about Italy is “il dolce di  fa ninete”(the sweetness of doing nothing). I love walking through the canals in Venice, having a gelato and sitting with my thoughts on  a bench.
