Jonas comes from Sweden and since some months he’s joined our Social Campaigns area. He loves design, technology and nature, and in Italy he’s discovered a passion for gelato and prosecco! If you want to know more about him, just read the interview below.
Can you describe in no more than 30 words who you are and what you do?
I’m a 23 y/o Computational & Interactive Designer from Sweden with a passion for design, technology and nature. I use computers as a tool to explore new ways to interact with our surroundings through technology. When I’m not on the computer I’m usually out doing iPhone field studies of my surroundings for my pretentious Instagram feed (@jonaseltes). #selfpromotion. And so for the answer to the question, it’s no.
What do you expect from your time at Fabrica?
Experiment, broaden my perspectives and learn from the cultural and creative exchange with my fellow Fabricantis across the different departments and disciplines. No IKEA furniture.
What inspires you most?
I find a lot of my inspiration in contemporary social behaviours and cultural norms; exploring how they can be questioned and expressed through interactive experiences powered by technology.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Always backup your computer. Yet I don’t…
What do you miss of your home and what do you like of Italy?
I miss fiber internet connection and not having to deal with cash and papers basically as we do everything online, and being surrounded by IKEA furniture. I like the landscapes, gelato and prosecco of Italy.
