Street Portrait – Workshop with Mattia Zoppellaro

19-20 March 2018

08 February 2018

Mattia Zoppellaro is an internationally renowned photographer, specialized in portrait. He’s portrayed, among others, U2, Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Depeche Mode. He’s collaborated with several prestigious magazines, such as Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, GQ, Sunday Times Magazine.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
A portrait is a result of the encounter between 2 persons: the photographer and his subject. It’s not important how much time the two spend together, how well they know each other, if they like the other or not: what matters is the ability to create a connection and transform this event in an image.

“Street Portrait” aims at showing how to take advantage of what the space around us puts at our disposal (natural light, city architecture) when we have to portray someone.

Max number of participants: 15

TREVISO
Treviso is a medieval city in the Veneto countryside, about 30 kilometers (less than 20 miles) from Venice. It is a jewel of a city with its ancient buildings, narrow streets, and canals. Dante mentions Treviso in the Divine Comedy. The old town center is small and accessible, a place to breathe in the “dolce vita” atmosphere while sitting at cafés crowding the lively, bustling squares.
