“Un autre regard” – workshop with Peter Knapp, photographer

4-5-6 April 2018

02 March 2018

Peter Knapp invites you to get rid of clichés and commonplaces linked to our perception of reality. How can we overcome stereotypes and come nearer to the essence of what is around us? How can we get closer to the concept of “beauty”, to odours, to sensations with a genuine and authentic visual approach? This is the challenge of this workshop, that will take the participants in a unique journey of discovery of the unexpected fascination of what we already know, and also of themselves.

Born in 1931 in Switzerland, Peter Knapp is a photographer, a painter, a graphic designer, a filmaker, but most of all, a complete artist who produces images since more than fifty years. Internationally known for his work in the fashion world, in 1959 he became the  artistic director of the French magazine Elle, where he worked with some of the biggest names in fashion photography, such as Jeanloup Sieff, Sarah Moon, and Oliviero Toscani. Later, he worked for magazines such as The Sunday Times, Vogue and Stern. Over the years, he’s taken part in numerous collective exhibitions, though photography has always remained one of his favourite fields.

TREVISO
Treviso is a medieval city in the Veneto countryside, about 30 kilometers (less than 20 miles) from Venice. It is a jewel of a city with its ancient buildings, narrow streets, and canals. Dante mentions Treviso in the Divine Comedy. The old town center is small and accessible, a place to breathe in the “dolce vita” atmosphere while sitting at cafés crowding the lively, bustling squares
