On behalf of the World Health Organization
FABRICA CONCEIVES A GLOBAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST TOBACCO
The project will be launched tomorrow, for World No Tobacco Day

May 30th 2012. Fabrica, Benetton Group’s creative laboratory, continues its series of social communication campaigns with a tobacco-awareness poster realized for the World Health Organization, that will be officially launched tomorrow, May 31st for World No Tobacco Day.

The official theme for World No Tobacco Day 2012 is  "Tobacco Industry Interference" and aims to educate policy-makers and the general public about the tobacco industry’s increasingly aggressive attempts to undermine tobacco control efforts and to take practical steps to frame these mechanisms. Such attempts must be exposed and resisted because of the serious danger they pose to public health.

Fabrica has conceived one poster, created by Michela Povoleri, a young grant-holder of the Visual Communication area of Fabrica, and has been developed in six languages (English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish).

The campaign will be distributed worldwide and can be downloaded from WHO official web site:

Fabrica is Benetton’s communication research centre, founded in 1994 with the objective of blending culture and industry. Fabrica offers internships to young artists/designers; they receive an annual scholarship, the opportunity to train, and a wealth of resources and relationships with which, under the guidance of experts, they can develop cultural and social communication projects in the fields of design, visual communication, photography, interaction, video, music and publishing.
