FABRICA CONCEIVES A GLOBAL CAMPAIGN TO FIGHT THE SPREADING OF TUBERCULOSIS

Ponzano, 17^th March 2008. Fabrica, Benetton Group’s communication research centre, continues its series of social communication campaigns with a tuberculosis-awareness campaign, to be officially launched for World TB Day. The campaign is developed on behalf of WHO’s non-profit organisation Stop TB Partnership.

 

Fabrica has produced two series of images, both created by two young grant-holders of the research centre. Each series will be released separately, starting in March 2008. The campaign focuses on five key messages: TB’s high mortality rate; the importance of preventive measures; the necessity of appropriate treatment; endorsement by Portuguese footballer Luis Figo, Stop TB’s celebrity ambassador; and fund raising.

 

The campaign has been developed in nine languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkmen) and will be launched around the world in the print-press and on outdoor advertising.

 

Fabrica is a place of experimentation and innovation. Founded on the experience of a group operating in more than 100 world nations, Fabrica was created with the aim of merging “culture” and “industry” in an unprecedented experiment. Housed in an architectural complex near Venice, which Tadao Ando restored and enlarged, Fabrica invites young artists from all over the world to develop projects in the fields of design, graphics, video, music, publishing, interactive, photography, under the guidance of an international team of experts.
