Mandana Moghaddam

Public lecture: October 29, 2008 at 10:30 am

Fabrica will be hosting Mandana Moghaddam, a Swedish-Iranian artist, for a lecture on her works.

Mandana Moghaddam was born in Tehran and now she lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Her art pursues questions relating to communication, isolation and exile, discussing alienation and existential conditions, cultural and gender related restrictions.
In 2005 her work Chelgis was displayed in the Iranian pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

Chelgis (literally; the girl with forty braids) is the name of a series of four installation pieces. The conception of this project stems from her personal experiences in the 21st century.
