On Wednesday, 16 October at 5pm CEST Fabrica presents an online lecture by Alastair Fuad-Luke titled “Aesthetic interventions towards Viable Agri-cultures”.
Alastair Fuad-Luke is an independent scholar, facilitator, educator and activist who explores how design is applied to eco-social issues. He was curator of the Porto Design Biennale 2021, Portugal, a Full Professor at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy 2016-2021, and at Aalto University, Finland 2011-2015. Recent books include “Post-normal Design” and “Field Explorations”.
Five hundred years ago Europeans commenced a journey, the Great Separation, where nature and culture were split through successive colonial, mechanical, genetic and machinic agricultural revolutions. Can design- and arts-based practices help regenerative, agroecological and rewilding modes of agri-cultures, towards multi-species modes of co-existence?
Alastair Fuad-Luke’s lecture is part of Fabrica’s “Ruralism” residency program curated by Carlos Casas.
