[EN]Karolina Wojtas [1996, PL] is a photographer who gets inspiration from random objects, children’s fantasies and her childhood memories, creating a colourful world of experiments and endless fun transformed into walk-in installations. Inspiration may become for her a mess in the garden of her grandfather or a huge slide. Through her exhibition, it is impossible to slip, sometimes covered with brocade or balloons. But you can feel like a child – play, abandon and scrounge. She graduated from Lodz Film School and Institute of Creative Photography in the Czech Republic.

Wojtas has exhibited her works in many solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally (Foam in Amsterdam (2021), Noorderlicht International Photo Festival (2020), Gallery Naga in Warsaw (2020), Bratislava Month of Photography (2019)). Among awards and acknowledgements for her work are the nomination for reGeneration 4: The Challenges of Photography and its Museum for Tomorrow in Musée de l’Elysée, a special mention at Plat(f)orm 2020 in Fotomuseum Winterthur, winning c/o Berlin Award (2022), the ING Unseen Talent Award (2019), Amsterdam, and the Tiff Open (2018) at Tiff Festival Wrocław. Her work has appeared in The British Journal of Photography, Lampoon Magazine, L’uomo Vogue, Superpaper, Tampon – Ordinary Magazine, Causette, and Das Magazin Switzerland. Karolina Wojtas is represented by Vasli Souza in Oslo.

[IT]Karolina Wojtas [1996, PL] è una fotografa che trae ispirazione da oggetti casuali, fantasie dei bambini e ricordi della sua infanzia, creando un mondo colorato di esperimenti e divertimento infinito trasformato in installazioni walk-in. L'ispirazione può diventare per lei un pasticcio nel giardino di suo nonno o un enorme scivolo. Attraverso la sua mostra è impossibile scivolare, a volte ricoperta di broccato o palloncini. Ma puoi sentirti un bambino: gioca, abbandona e scrocca. Si è diplomata alla Lodz Film School e all'Istituto di fotografia creativa nella Repubblica Ceca.

Wojtas ha esposto le sue opere in numerose mostre personali e collettive in Polonia e all'estero (Foam ad Amsterdam (2021), Noorderlicht International Photo Festival (2020), Gallery Naga a Varsavia (2020), Bratislava Month of Photography (2019)). Tra premi e riconoscimenti per il suo lavoro ci sono la nomination per reGeneration 4: The Challenges of Photography and its Museum for Tomorrow al Musée de l'Elysée, una menzione speciale al Plat(f)orm 2020 al Fotomuseum Winterthur, vincitrice c/o Berlin Award (2022), l'ING Unseen Talent Award (2019), Amsterdam, e il Tiff Open (2018) al Tiff Festival Wrocław. [EN]THE DEATH OF KAROLINA WOJTAS

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Karolina Wojtas, who passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023.

Unexpectedly, in recent months, Karolina was diagnosed with Aggressive Super-Stupid First Unhappy Love (ASS-FUL Syndrome). She had no chance to recover, violently attacked by rejection.

Her cremated feelings will be placed in the grave during the funeral ceremony that will take place on 24.02.2023 at Fabrica, Via Postioma, 54/F, 31020 Catena di Villorba TV, Italy. Let’s have fun and enjoy her last will!

Announced by all those in sorrow who have been infected with foolish first love.

È con profonda tristezza che annunciamo la morte di Karolina Wojtas, scomparsa domenica 1 gennaio 2023.

Inaspettatamente, negli ultimi mesi, a Karolina è stato diagnosticato un Aggressivo Super-Stupido Primo Amore Infelice (Sindrome ASS-FUL). Non ha avuto alcuna possibilità di riprendersi, aggredita violentemente dal rifiuto.

suoi sentimenti saranno cremati e verranno deposti nella tomba durante la cerimonia funebre che si svolgerà il 24.02.2023 a Fabrica, Via Postioma, 54/F, 31020 Catena di Villorba TV, Italia. Divertiamoci e godiamoci la sua ultima volontà!
