Spazio Intermedio is a work based on waiting and observing movement, and it realizes itself in three interpretations of this concept. Alexander’s research for this project began by focusing on perpetual and unconscious movements. Drawing comparisons between the action of a blink and the mechanical action of film and camera, clicking between dark and light. Following this focus, for the second part of his project, the artist observed a chair in a field with a tomato on top of it for over five months. Photographing it, capturing the transience of time, and observing the tension between constant and transitory compositions in photography. In the final chapter Memoria, he analyzes the appearance and disappearance of images on paper, marking the passage of days, weeks, and months.
