On 6 April 2022 Studio d-o-t-s delivered a free online lecture titled “Towards a Phyto-centred Design”.
What if design took into consideration the needs and desires not just of humans, but also of other-than-humans?
In this talk, studio d-o-t-s invite us to discover their Manifesto of Phyto-centred Design. Conceived as a 7-point call to creatives, producers and consumers to establish a new sense of respect and responsibility towards plants, the manifesto shifts away from a human-centred perspective and encourages us to consider deeper relationships with the world we co-inhabit with others.
d-o-t-s is a nomadic research-led studio active in the field of editorial and curatorial production. Founded in 2014 by Laura Drouet and Olivier Lacrouts, the studio’s investigations focus on alternative social dynamics, off-the-record stories and experimental design perspectives. Defined by the participatory and interdisciplinary approach, d-o-t-s’ work ranges from writing and exhibition-making to educational workshops.
