On Friday 12 April at 7pm Saodat Ismailova will be at Fabrica for a lecture open to the public in which she will present her work as a director and artist.
Born in Tashkent, Saodat Ismailova is an Uzbek filmmaker and artist who began her professional journey at Fabrica in 2002.
Graduated from Tashkent State Art Institute and Le Fresnoy, National Studio of Contemporary Arts, in 2021 she initiated Davra research group in Central Asia. In 2022 Saodat participated in 59th Biennale of Venice and presented new work at documenta fifteen. In the same year she received The Eye Art & Film Prize, Amsterdam.
Saodat Ismailova’s lecture is part of the “Kinship” residency program curated by Carlos Casas.
