Olive Moccasins Chronicle
The project consists of three collections of works made during a six-month residency at Fabrica. The first is a responsive performance based on a compilation of music related to personal themes, reflecting a renewed sense of rest and belonging. The second is an indoor installation featuring a series of paintings and workshop outcomes that explore the delightful complexities of self-discovery and healing. The latter is another outdoor installation of characterful two-dimensional human-sized sculptures aimed to exteriorize Tran’s viewpoint in more of an architectural gesture.
Artist’s statement
Six months at Fabrica marked a memorable transformation for me. I relocated to the West, experienced an art residence, and was encouraged to share my vision for graphic-based art, all for the first time. Thus, I channeled this feeling of uncertainty into an outburst of characteristic, optimistic, colorful pieces of work.
That made me envision the last exhibition’s project as a multi-media collection that pays tribute to my beginning at Fabrica and my practice in new materials since this six-month journey has been regrowing my artistic life.
