Tecnosuolo

Tecnosuolo

Tecnosuolo, a multidisciplinary project developed by Davide Balda during his artistic residency at Fabrica, proposes the use of textile fibers of biological origin—such as linen, wool and cotton, obtained from Benetton’s disposed clothing items—as a vegetal substrate and fertilizer for the germination of plants and as mulch to encourage their growth by protecting them from atmospheric phenomena. A new cultivation method to address the impact of the textile industry on the environment and promote the disposal of garments where they are produced.
