Ruralism
The theme for the 2024 Autumn-Winter session is “Ruralism: Pathways to a Sustainable Future”. Drawing inspiration from the innovative concepts of eco and agro-futurism, the theme reimagines ruralism as a cornerstone of ecological balance and sustainable living.
Eleven young creatives have been invited to explore and challenge traditional definitions of rural life. By emphasizing the principles of commonism, which advocate for shared resources and communal well-being, the participants will investigate how simplicity and traditional agricultural practices can coexist with modern technology to create resilient, self-sustaining communities.
Through interdisciplinary research and discussions, the residents will examine new perspectives on contemporary issues such as the relentless expansion of urbanization, the impact of digital technology on work environments, and the promotion of biodiversity. The aim is to foster a harmonious relationship with nature, ensure food sustainability, and nurture a sense of community and shared responsibility for the planet’s future.
